The Sabbath Misunderstood #11: Unraveling John MacArthur's Teachings - Conclusion
I got an EG4 battery and panels and want to but more system parts and get something set up. However I cant find anyone to help install a set up here in Trinity County. Do you recommend anyone?
At the moment, I don't know any installers. I'd love to put a list together. I've also considered doing a workshop at some point for people to see it done in real life. Stay posted to hear when we do.
Berapa harga nya kalau di texas/amerika
Move away from the powerline. it's an obstruction.
저 크키면 가방에 넣고 다니면서, 여행할때 인터넷 안되는곳에 충분히 쓸수있겠지. 이거 인기가 많을까? 속도가 좀 느려서 안할까?
50 gig cap puts serious damper on it
no telling how them power lines affected testing...
You should think about propane or kerosene for heat. Save battery power. Even a tankless water heater.
Good advice. I’ve got quite a few videos on propane heat. It’s one of my favorites. 👍🏼 I need to look further into tankless water heaters. I used to have one running on natural gas when we lived in the city.
Help! Lol. I watch all the channels and I feel I'm missing something or nobody says it. @ 4:58 "refrigerator 1000w" so is that 1k x 24 hours = 24,000? Or just 1000w? If it's 1k per hr then your batteries would need to carry 24kw correct? (Minus solar input) This is where I get confused! 😅
Sorry for the confusion. That’s only while the compressor is running. It will cycle on and off all day. Just like our well pump that uses 5000 watts, it only turns on a dozen times a day or so and only for a few minutes at a time. One thing you can do is purchase an electric usages monitor plug to see how much each unit uses per day. Plut this thing into the wall behind your fridge and then plug your fridge into it. You will be able to see how many kWh/day as well as it max power draw at startup. They’re about $10 on Amazon. This one looks pretty good. amzn.to/3L9uvRe (affiliate link) I hope this helps. Let me know if not.
How do you think this would be for RV’ing?
Great as long as you can get a clear view of the sky. The plan currently doesn’t allow for use while in motion so it won’t work while driving. I’ve been seeing 100 to 175 mbps down in follow-up tests.
@@EastTexasHomesteadwe would only use it while at a location. Don’t need the in motion WiFi.
Great 👍🏼
Wow sounds like jets in the background or you're in a wind tunnel with all those inverters LOL
That’s as bad as it gets and it sounds worse in the video than in real life. But I wouldn’t want it in my house. 🤪
@@EastTexasHomestead no way would that be in my home. I run the Victron 450/200's and they are dead quiet.
Victron makes some great stuff. I built a system with their equipment a few months ago and was impressed. It was significantly more complicated than my existing setup though.
@@EastTexasHomestead yes I suppose it could be more complex but quiet as a mouse and exceptionally reliable. I'll take that over everything all day everyday. To each their own. :-)
👍
“Remember”, the only commandment so commanded!
The Lego example is a good analogy to how it really does work. Because you can try putting together a Lego set without the included pictogram manual that comes with the set. The good news is that the Lego set does come with the manual. Likewise, the inverter system in modern times now comes with the easy to follow manual in most cases and also the plethora of UA-cam channels that help people walk through the settings, etc. so it really does compare to a Lego set, you can build whatever you want and there’s plenty of information to get it built even if you’re a first timer.
good video...Thanks!
You bet!
So, What other 48volt chargers have you compared this too?
I’ve used the original Chargeverter and the EG4 1000w charger
Regular size Ninja coffee pot... more like 1600-1700 watts.
😳
Is the cable you are using for ACin SOOW cable? If so, what gauge are you using, where did you get it from and what is the cost?
It is SOOW and 8 AWG. I think it was around $4/foot at Home Depot. However, it is not code compliant. For whatever reason, you can’t use this in a fixed location - but you can drag it all over your shop floor. 🤷🏼
You should tell your viewers about the EG4 6500EX inverters that are failing left and right. Search youtube for "EG4 problems" to see for yourself. And please explain how this inverter that can only produce double its rated output that start a load that demands three times its rated load?
Nice work man! I don't think I will ever be done lol. My system needs about 200kwh for my crowd and maybe 40kw solar array it seems sometimes. But I have a good start with the 85kwh and 16kw array.
You’re so far ahead of us! I’m trying to catch up 🤪
Great Videos! Keep up the good informative content.
Thanks, will do!
You got it going on there. Great Job. I'm East TX also. Few miles north of Longview. Nit sure where you are. Been working on my energy independence no where near as far as you. But doing as finances allow. Have to of the solar mini splits installed and have solar to them as well as a couple solar generators and 4 gas generators and over 350 gallons of fuel. So won't ever be caught flat footed again. Still have a long way to go. But will get there. Thanks for the video..... Jeff
In many ways you’re better off than we are! 😁 always good to hear from neighbors. We are just outside Tyler.
East texas here also. Really nice setup. Had a tree fall on my house a couple weeks back. Such a pain. Nice post.
Sorry to hear that. It was crazy for a few weeks. Hopefully all is well for you now.
Lost a lot of trees on the property but only slight damage to our shed. Over the 2 weeks of storms we ran off whole house generator for 76 hours. Made me finally order Starlink since our ISP was out even longer than the power. Not yet convinced we need to go battery backup since in 2 years these have been our only significant outages and it looks like our propane can run our generator for 7-10 days before needing a refill. If we move we will likely put in solar and battery backup systems.
That was a crazy couple of weeks. Good to hear your generator kept things going. It's a nice prep, for sure. It's tough to justify the battery backup for emergencies when you have the generator. I'm glad you ended up getting Starlink. How's it been working for you?
@@EastTexasHomestead Lets just say my cable company is loosing me as a customer this week after a 3 week trial of starlink. Sad when a satellite internet company is more stable than a cable company.
😬 my long-held position has been that if you can get cable, then you should stick with cable, but that might change based off of your experience.
Same price for everyone.
🤔
Harga berapa sahabatku

I thought it would be smaller.
I did too but it fits into a backpack just fine
Starlink is a game changer.
Sure is
Correct me if I'm wrong, I think a lot of dc power boxes have a direct dc connection. Negating the 110v conversion. ?
That’s correct. I just don’t have a way to get the dc power from USB to the barrel connection.
Can that unit work both AC/DC?
It can! It will use as much DC as is available and supplement with AC as needed. You can also tell it to limit the ac and just run with the available DC.
Thanks for the look into your setup. I have 2 6000xp and 6 lifepower4....not running yet. Good to learn from others.
Sounds like we have the same base components. :) I've got a full install video that may be helpful. I'm also about to put out another video that is a bit more in-depth than this one but less than the full install. You can do this!
Love the video Eric! I bought myself a Gen2 for my remoted village house for my parent in Malaysia and it works really well. Nice powerpack btw. Keep it up
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing :)

@@alwisyamhudi9112 Waalaikumusalam, sudah pasang Starlink ni tempat Tuan kah? Sangat berbaloi 👍

It's not just the dirty electricity from the generator. You would have to hook up the generator to All The 6000XP's! The Inverter's will switch to charge mode running all the load off the generator and charging batteries with what is left over, but there is More! You CANNOT run different generators on each 6000XP because they would not be phase matched. You would have to have a huge generator if you have large loads running. This Must Change for EG4 and others to meet the needs of the market. Put a REAL CARGER inside and stop using the inverter to charge! I have 2 ChargeVerters so I can run 2 Normal Inverter Generators Not some Huge Insane Expensive Loud Fuel Guzzling Large Generator! Oh yeah, and they put features in the ChargeVerter that you cannot use like communication that will not work if your batteries are communicating with the Inverters which is Always the case! And Generator Auto Start that inexpensive smaller Inverter Generators which don't have batteries and starters cannot use! You only need 5000k to 6000k continuous output Generator to max out the ChargeVerter and very few Inverter Generators of this size have starters and I don't want starters with additional maintenance and problems! You have something set or wired wrong. You Did Not Even Have The Generator Breaker On so you did not have any output to the batteries! Mine does not shut down the Inverters when starting the ChargVerters. Inverters Generators can run at or near 100% just fine because the output does not become unstable as on non-inverter generators and in my experience Inverters Generators do not run as high RPM at full load so they are not working at full motor capacity at full output. I say EG4 is Wrong about the inverters shutting down, something is wrong in your setup.
You are paying for everyones elses internet? 30$ per month in europe is 45$ nice ;p
We are paying twice as much for the dish as other countries, which don't have data caps.

So you mean Starlink mini is only available in the United States rn
From the Starlink FAQ page: “Starlink Mini is currently available in the following regions: Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Panama: Available for purchase on Starlink.com with Mini Service or Mobile - Regional service plans. United States: Available to active Residential customers via email invitation only.”
@@EastTexasHomestead okay thank you
👍🏼
Can I use the Starlink mini as my home internet only on mobile?
Not in the USA. It is a 50 GB / month add on to a residential plan. I suppose if you know someone who will let you use their mini plan, you could do it. Just stay under the data limit.
I really think that he is the obstruction, he's too close to the panel and blocking the signal
I bet you’re right 🤦🏼♂️
Can you add a usb c adapt to that connector
I’m sure this will be available soon
I wait for mini 2.0 to come out that supports usb c so i can use a battery bank
I’m running it off a $39 battery bank 🤷🏼
In my country the price is 49$ a month so you don’t pay for other countries
Is that for capped (50 GB) data and was your dish $600?
And what about the electromagnetic screen created by those power lines? That must be one of the worst places to test this satellite antenna! 😂
That was what I was thinking too
I totally agree. It’s literally the only place on my property with enough sky. I live in a forest 🌳
@@EastTexasHomestead It was a good test. I also liked your video. We can learn a lot about the real performance of these devices when conditions are not ideal. Thank you for the video.
FYI, I’ve been getting 120-185 without the power lines.

Ah, él estaba parado allí solo para mostrar la distancia. En realidad, estaba probando el alcance del WiFi.
I'm guessing that's not just a power supply, that's probably your wireless router as well.
The router is integrated into the dish. It's an all-in-one unit. All you have to do is provide DC power-well, AC power, which is then converted to DC.
How to buy starlink mini.
If you're in the United States, you need to have an existing plan. Eventually, they will send you the option by email with a link. It is a slow rollout, and at the moment, there's no way to force it.
below 100Mbps? SpaceX Mini is far from expectations, execpt living on the isolated area 😅
It's slow if you are used to higher speeds, but there's nothing I can get where I live that comes close to this.
I use a pair of the original yellow eg4 charger. And I don't have those issues when I switch on the chargeverter. It's operation is totally transparent and behaves just like Powers coming from solar input.
I have an old yellow one as well, and you're right. It didn't do that. I'm going to have to do some testing now.
@@EastTexasHomestead I have a pair of them. They survived a lightning strike to my solar array this afternoon while the generator was running and charging batteries. A Sungold Power 6kW inverter was also being used as a charger and it went up in smoke.
Oh man!!! I’m sorry to hear that. 😢
@@EastTexasHomestead I think I got lucky in that my SC4880 charge controller connected to that string did not die. It doesn't work anymore because there's only 10V coming in from the array now. Bypass diodes must have all shorted in the 20 panels in that array.
I'm glad it didn't take it all out. But man! what a bummer
They need to allow people to buy this unit & service stand-a-lone and not require you to have regular StarLink too.
I'm sure it will come at some time :)
